How to Open a PSX Account

A practical path from choosing a regulated broker to funding your account.

  1. Shortlist a PSX-recognized and SECP-licensed securities broker.
  2. Choose a conventional, online or Sahulat account according to your needs and eligibility.
  3. Complete the broker's Customer Relationship Form and KYC requirements in your own name.
  4. Submit identification, bank and contact information requested by the broker.
  5. Receive your trading account and CDC sub-account or investor-account details.
  6. Fund the account through the approved banking channel and start with a small, planned amount.
02

Choosing a Broker

Select a broker for reliability and service, not only for the lowest commission.

  • Confirm that the broker is registered with PSX and licensed by SECP.
  • Compare trading commission, taxes, account charges and other disclosed fees.
  • Test the quality of the desktop platform, mobile application and order execution.
  • Review research support, customer service, branch access and complaint handling.
  • Understand whether securities will be held in a CDC sub-account or your own Investor Account.
  • Read the account-opening documents and keep copies of all signed forms.
03

Volume & Momentum Basics

Price tells you where a stock is; volume and momentum help explain the strength behind the move.

  • Volume is the number of shares traded during a period.
  • Rising price with rising volume can show stronger participation than price movement alone.
  • Momentum measures whether price and activity are strengthening or weakening over time.
  • RahizZavia compares activity, price movement, rank changes and historical behavior across several periods.
  • A high-volume move still requires confirmation; news, liquidity and market conditions matter.
  • Use momentum to build a shortlist, then perform your own fundamental and technical research.
RahizZavia supports 3-day, 7-day, 2-week and 1-month momentum views.

Risk Management

Capital protection comes before profit.

  • Decide your maximum acceptable loss before entering a trade.
  • Use position sizing so one wrong decision cannot damage the whole account.
  • Avoid investing borrowed or emergency money.
  • Do not chase a stock only because it is moving rapidly or appearing on social media.
  • Diversify sensibly and understand liquidity before placing large orders.
  • Keep records of entries, exits and reasons so you can improve your process.
